This project focused on the culture, atmosphere, and excitement of the Mission/Bernal Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. The goal of this project is to build affordable housing and mixed-use spaces on a currently existing suburban-model Safeway site. My desire with this project is to incorporate a diverse and easily accessible hierarchy of spaces, ranging from parks, to urban plazas, to private and intimate courtyards exclusive to the residents. The desired end result is to create a flourishing and safe community that gives back to its residents and its surrounding neighborhood.
